The automatic WET SHEAR equipment is a variation of the Tappi T842 Standard, which allows us to obtain the time of shear (in seconds) of the glue in a sample of corrugated board submerged in water with a certain constant load applied (Wet Shear Adhesion Test).

A weight of 1 or 2 kilos is applied depending on the strength of the cardboard. It is a test extremely important in boxes for fruits specially in banana boxes were the humidity and low temperature are very demanding, similar to the ice cream and fish boxes that are going to be in high frozen ambient.

FEATURES:

To determine the take-off time of the adhesive in a sample of corrugated cardboard submerged in water and subjected to a determined constant tension.
Structure made of Stainless Steel.
Water tank with level markings for optimum filling.
Adjustable machine feet to adjust the leveling of the equipment. Auxiliary level is supplied.
4’’ touchscreen for control, configuration of parameters and visualization of results.
The equipment is supplied with two masses (1 kg and 2 kg) to tension the sample during the test. Depending on the type of cardboard to be tested, one or the other mass must be mounted.
USB port for printer connection.
RS-232 port for PC connection.
2 test modes:
- Automatic test: Immersion of the sample, start of test, and automatic reading of the lift-off time. Return to rest position by pressing the confirmation button on the screen.
- Manual movements via on-screen buttons: Two on-screen buttons allow manual control of the system’s movement.
