Slosh Box SBX‑3 equipment for the disintegration of tissue‑based products, nonwoven materials, and related items in accordance with FG502, providing mechanical agitation in water or wastewater.

Developed mainly for the nonwoven industry, to test the disintegration capacity of sanitary wipes, both for feminine hygiene and baby care.

It is already being used in new tissue product developments with significant percentages of fluff and cellulose pulp, substitutes for non-woven fabrics. This is because the dissolution of non-woven fabrics in water was very weak, causing major blockages/clogs in pipes.

The test consists of placing several samples of the material in water for two hours and moving them back and forth to generate a small amount of turbulence, which in turn causes the paper to disintegrate.

FEATURES:

The device consists of an oscillating frame supporting three independent methacrylate tanks. The system rotates at 26 rpm. This speed can be adjusted using a built-in regulator (frequency indicator).
Each tank is equipped with a transparent lid that prevents splashing and allows the degree of disintegration to be observed during the test.
A Slosh Box test apparatus consists of one or more (typically three) plastic containers mounted on a horizontal platform, which is oscillated (i.e., rocked back and forth) by a cam‑and‑lever rotary mechanism at 26 rpm.
Each tank (internal dimensions): Depth: 46 cm (18 in) / Width: 30 cm (12 in) / Height: 15 - 30 cm (6 - 12 in).
When positioning the equipment, the oscillating movement during the test must be taken into account, so a minimum distance of 180 mm from the handle to the wall (if any) is recommended to avoid collisions.
