The test to determine the specific volume and absorption properties of fluff pulp according to SCAN C-33 standard:
Cylindrical Fluff specimens with a mass of 3 g and a diameter of 50 mm are prepared. The specimen is positioned in vertical position, on a plate with a perforated bottom, and apply a mass of 500 g. In this situation, the height of the specimen and the specific volume is calculated. Then it allows the specimen to absorb water from below.
Time required for water to penetrate the upper surface of the specimen is measured and considered as absorption time.
Absorption capacity is determined by weighing the soaked specimen.
